In a recent investigation, an employee was suspected of stealing clients and sending them to a competitor. During the initial part of our investigation, we first ran a background on the individual and discovered he had started a business, which was a conflict of interest, and used the same business address as the company’s competitor.
We were able to obtain a written and oral declaration, taken under and knowing the penalty of perjury, in which the employee admitted to sending clients to his own business and to the competition (a friend of his).
